Closing reception: The world as a supermarket

"The world as a supermarket" is a commentary on consumerism and the devastating action of human beings towards the environment from Cuban artist Janette Brossard. As a large installation with an ironic sense, the exhibition proposes a reflection about species in danger of extinction and the need to protect life on our planet.

Also on view is a separate art collaboration from Janette Brossard and American artist Mary Sherwood Brock that includes the work of Cuban and American artists participating in the Paper Boats Project in Havana in 2023.

Paper Boats Project 2023: Judith Amdur, M Sherwood Brock, Andra Broekelschen, Nancy Cusack, Julie Evanoff, Katherine Freygang, Ruchika Madan, Annie Silverman and J Michael Walker.(Havana, Cuba): Yamilys Brito, Janette Brossard, Eduardo Roca Salazar “Choco”, Norberto Marrero, Ibraham Miranda, Osmeivy Ortega and Angel Ramirez.

Closing reception: Sunday March 23, 3-5 pm
